Each Individual informs the way one views others and the world. In the personal essay, “Us And Them” by David Sedaris, Sedaris claims that “The only place that seemed truly different was owned by a man named Mr. Tomkey, who did not believe in television.” (73) Mr. Tomkey was David's neighbor, who was viewed differently by David because of his personal beliefs of not wanting or needing a television. I suppose at that time it was or even still is strange for someone not to have a television in their home because technology has become a huge part of the popular culture of this generation; however, Mr. Tomkey thought otherwise and was one of the persons that didn't own any type of television.
However, peers determine the way one views everything
