Urbanks Disrespect

“Urbanks told Brown that his guys “are the ones getting s—t done- and I can fix my men’s shave in 20 minutes-can you fix your knee by then?” Although you don’t agree with his disrespect for 1SG Brown, you let that one slide because they are the ones getting things done. The ethical dilemma is this situation is with me letting LT Urbanks’ disrespect towards 1SG Brown slide. As a leader you should never let disrespect among your soldiers slide. Regardless of LT Urbanks out ranking 1SG Brown and regardless of the task he and his men have accomplished. He must be held to the Army’s standards at all times. If I were to continue to allow LT Urbanks to disrespect 1SG Brown it would continue to escalate and potentially cause 1SG Brown to retaliate. It would also cause 1SG Brown and I to have problem is our professional …show more content…
The good order and conduct of my entire company is more important than sparing the feelings of one Lieutenant. 1SG Brown is my right hand man, his knowledge and experience is a valuable asset to me and my company. I know 1SG Browns injuries are from many years of being a high performance soldier. I am also aware that he is working through his injuries to remain an asset to my company.
I have confidences in my tack as a leader that I can address this issue without causing offense to LT Urbanks. To address this issue I would promptly ensure 1SG Brown that I will address LT Urbanks in references to his disrespect. I would have LT Urbanks come to my office for a verbal counseling.
Verbal Counseling: LT Urbanks how are you? Is there anything going on with you I need to know about? The reason I’m asking is because of the incident you had with 1SG Brown, it seemed out of character for you. I know you’re new to the company and I haven’t had much time to get to know you. But we’re glad you’re here, you’ve been doing great thing.
LT Urbanks: I’m fine ma’am, I don’t have anything going

His supporting arguments are society emphasizes behavior not conducive to promoting positive ethical behavior, malignant personalities in the ranks spreading negative behavior, and the ambiguity of the asymmetric warfare fought today. The simplest way I know the first General Order would be disrespected is not understanding or ignoring proper communication with my chain of command. In other words I should stay in my lane and try to the best of my abilities to complete the mission at hand and not deviate…
