This mother describes how thorough medical records are required at all health care facilities for her young child; but are not shared among them ("Riverbend City: Urban Health Issues Mission", 2016). For example, the son and mothers attempt to gain treatment at the emergency department demonstrated how the health policies designed to provide care to those with or without insurance is available; but also demonstrated how some still may not fully understand the policies, which may cause them to avoid using those benefits. Another example includes the homeless man who was a frequent visitor to the emergency department; and still received a serious diagnosis when requiring serious examinations after arriving for a frequent visit with serious symptoms ("Riverbend City: Urban Health Issues Mission", 2016). Health policy’s that could assist the homeless man with possible basic and preventive care may have prevented his diagnosis. Although, these policies may require assistance with application and approval; as well as take time to be approved. The issue the teen mother faced with medical records at multiple clinics may be connected to health policies that require the recording of all medical records; but do not require them to be synced with all other health care facilities ("Riverbend City: Urban Health Issues Mission", 2016).
As a member of public health leadership in this community I would address these issues by assessing how they are specifically impacting residents. The first issue depicted appeared to be more based on confusion and hesitance about possible conflicts
