Uranus, often being referred as an ice giant was created 4.5 billion years ago, yet we have only had one mission to this marvelous planet that has many interesting details. The third largest planet, Uranus has many moons and cold temperatures with its average temperature being -216 degrees Celsius. The planet has a much longer orbit than the earth. Uranus also has a large figure and as stated earlier, it is the 3rd largest planet. There has only been one spacecraft to Uranus, which was Voyager 2 on this mission, NASA collected important details about Uranus and other planets as well. The planet Uranus has the third most amount of moons with 27 moons. 10 of those moons were discovered by Voyager 2. According to NASA most of Uranus’ moons are named after Shakespearean characters and a couple named after the works of Alexander Pope.
