Recently my class did a Upside Down Career Fair. The process before the Upside Down Career Fair included formulating answers to the questions the audience would ask, creating an I Am page, and making a poster to use as a display. For example, the fact that counseling psychologist work with other people from this field. Giving us this assignment it helped us realize how tedious our jobs are going to be. I found that dealing with people’s minds everyday is a tough job to have because there are obstacles that can hinder the relationship. Overall, it seems like it would be the best fit because I want to help people, but difficult in so many ways. However, I am up for the challenge. Looking back at the UDCF, I found that I would enjoy becoming a counseling

According to Occupational Outlook Handbook, psychologists study cognitive, emotional, and social processes and human behavior by observing, interpreting, and recording how people relate to one another and their environments. This field fascinations me for the reason that I aim to assist people when life throws them a curve ball. I intend to accomplish a difference in someone’s life and truly being a helping hand. When I took the Kuder Skills Confidence Assessment, my Holland code occurred to be SCI. The Holland code matches the career I intend to pressure since the S stands for social, the C stands for conventional, and the I stands for investigative.…

I knew from a young age that I wanted to eventually have a career which positively impacted the individual. When I was six years old, I wanted to be a window washer so I could give people the joy of being able to look outside. When I was in high school, I wanted to be a speech-language pathologist in order to help people exercise their right to speak. I have always observed that I am not the type of person who functions well in an inactive environment. I learn best by doing, and I cannot sit still and watch someone else do it for me.…

The counseling profession can hold both similarities and differences with other health care professionals in fields of psychology, social work, and psychiatry. The major difference between counselors and other health care professionals is the model they use to assist in providing services to Clients. Counselors use the Wellness Model to help treat Clients where as other health care professionals use the medial model. This model tends to examine mental health as an illness. Counselors when servicing Clients want to help empower clients to achieve their highest level of being as possible instead of focusing on curing an illness.…

My entire life I have always wanted to do something where I would be remembered positively by many people. I recall always telling myself I was going to become a backup dancer for a famous singer, become a singer myself, or maybe an actress. Better yet, I thought I could have been all three. As I entered middle school, I realized those goals were too surreal to even become the slightest bit possible, mainly since I am located in an area that most people haven’t even heard of. Back then, I was very uncertain about any career goals I have had.…
