How did Cal life change after meeting Gretchen? How did Cal feeling change about Lola and Gretchen from the beginning to the end? The book is called Until They Bring The Streetcar Back by Stanley Gordon West. It the beginning of Cal senior year at Central High School, class of 1950. Everything went from good to bad when Cal decide talk to Gretchen in Miss Whalmen class.

At first Cal didn't really like gretchen because she got cal in study hall and miss his football game so then he didn't want anything to do with gretchen because other will make fun of him. “In the next couple week I managed to avoid Gretchen by getting to study hall just before the bell and blasting out of there the second it was over without looking back.”(30). It was his baby.” She pointed at Luttermann “And he killed it!” ”(262), “Luttermann blasted out of his chairs and leaped over the table and came for me. “Son of satan!” He shouted… and he grabbed me by the throat with both hand.”(262). It show that if it ain’t for Gretchen mom then they would’ve lost the case but it changed the case around and they won and put Mr.Luttermann to life time jail
