Have you ever lost a leg? Probably not but Harrison did. He had bone cancer that was discovered when he went to the doctor due to a football injury. He showed incredible persistence, even though it was difficult.
Harrison, from the book Unstoppable by Tim Green, is very large. When He started playing football, his teammates thought he would play on the line. He wanted to play running back. He was fit for the job being so strong and tall from his previous family that lived on a farm. Towards the end of the book, Harrison was sluggish, frail, and weakened by his surgery. At that time, Harrison was one-legged and needed a fake leg. Harrison became a haggard, tired child, and often was not in school.

He didn't want to tell his parents because his dad was the coach. Harrison wanted to make sure he could play in all of the games his team had and didn't want to seem weak. The team needed him he was, “Unstoppable.” He was pilfering packs of ice to bring to his bed, to place on his knee, he knew that would help him get better. One of the ice packs ended up leaking and his mom found out. She thought that Harrison had wet the bed, unable to agree to such an embarrassing story, he told her about his leg. His dad ended up finding out and made him see a doctor. The neighborhood doctor recommended to see another doctor, he recommended an MRI. It looked bad so Harrison was rushed into surgery. Harrison awoke and freaked out because his leg was gone! He was told he had bone cancer and there was an aberration with his leg so it needed to be removed. At the end of the book, Harrison was running down his street and everyone was amazed. He had persevered and learned to use his fake
