It was strange and made her wonder just how close they were. She had seen the look in Max's eyes, that carnal almost hungry look that very few men could actually back up. Lola didn't mind the cigarette smoke, but was grateful Max had blown it away from her. It did so linger in the clothes. And it didn't do well for business to smell like another man's tobacco. Lola allowed them to order what they wanted. They seemed to

I think that the pairings of the heirs were unusual because they got paired with people that they just met and each pair seemed like they were opposites. You would think that the heirs would get paired with someone they know, but they weren’t. I think this way because during the reading of the will, Chris Theodorakis got paired with D. Denton Deere and a few people didn’t think that was the right pair. “Theo protested: He and his brother should be paired together; Chris was his responsibility. Mrs.Wexler protested: Doctor D. should be paired with his bride-to-be.…

During this weekend, I can say that I experienced all three levels of communication. It is something that at first, I did not realize that I was being that particular way. During the course of my day, then I would realize. For example, the I-It communication level is something that I experience everyday and I’m sure we all do. When I pick up my coffee, when I buy clothes, and when I walk into a store etc.…

Imagine standing in a line at a store preparing to pay for your items and right before it is your turn to checkout, a couple cuts in front of you. Even though it sounds unlikely, this exact scenario happened to me while standing in line at a local Wal-Mart in Tallahassee. While standing with a surprised look on my face, I watched the couple slowly walk up and place their items on the belt to proceed to checkout. Many emotions traveled through my mind as I witnessed the couple cut in front of everyone waiting in line. Initially, I was angry because of the family’s disrespect…

Furthermore, something that I found extremely unhelpful during my dyad sessions was the tiny, closed up room we were in. It was overall an awful space to have to communicate comfortably within. During my second session, I remember feeling so closed in, that half way through the session while Breane was talking, I literally wanted to get up and open the door because I felt so uncomfortable. The room was a small square, had plain white walls and no windows. This was not something that was controllable by my helper, but I still felt very uncomfortable because of how trapped it made me feel.…

I found chapter 6 to be a great review on story structure. Of the many lessons learned I believe the structure of a story had always been the most stressed while growing up. I remember doing multiple exercises having to break apart stories and identify the introduction, rising action, climax, etc. I found the pattern of connection and disconnection part of the reading new to me but very easy to understand. When beginning stories I do always make sure to include a conflict but with this new idea I was to play with the connection and disconnection idea.…

John Hughes wrote and directed the cult-like movie which is set in the 1980s called the Breakfast Club. The movie is about high school students that all do something wrong during school and end up in a day-long Saturday detention with an extremely strict principal that has them work towards a single goal. Throughout the movie the interaction among the different characters is very interesting and eye opening about how people can learn to get along and to communicate, The diversity of the group, variations between and among people, is easy to recognize as it consists of Claire who is the popular school princess, Andrew the big school jock, John Bender the bad boy, Brian the brainiac, and Allison the school outcast and basket case. The group seems to be in culture shock, the psychological discomfort of adjusting to a new cultural situation, at the start of the day since the five students are pretty much strangers to each other.…
