I accepted the bold challenge of unplugging myself from the usage of any electronic devices over a time span of 24 hours during the last Saturday of April. Initially, I was hesitated to conduct the study as I have become progressively more reliant on technology for its great efficiency and convenience brought to my life. Therefore, I chose the option of 1992 in which telephone and cable TV still within the option of entertainment to increase my chance of completing the task. I further kept all my electronic devices out of my sight, including my smartphone, laptop, apple watch and so on for the purpose to recreate the settings back into the times of 1992.
I work up on the morning of the contest with a great sense of insecurity and frustration a discontinuity of the rhythm flowed through my mind as I had no idea what to do next. It is because I usually used my smartphone to put a chronological order to keep track of my daily activities. I went directly to bed afterward and that wrapped up my day of digital abstinence. When I was sitting on the bed to revisit my day of digital abstinence, I was shocked by the fact that the abstention failed to make a significant change to my life while failed to get any of real attention from me for the past ten hours from the afternoon to the end of the night. Throughout the time, I was considered technology as an integral part of my life in developing efficiency, the activity made me aware of the contrary fact to my perceived knowledge; the abstention of digital devices did not destruct my ability in performing my usual tasks, moreover, it enhanced my ability to some extent on accomplishing certain cognitive related tasks such as writing and
