The statement you cited made by Gorksy, “I needed to set the tone for the company,” highlights why leaders must be able to control the behavior of the members in their organizations. A leader must set the tone and display the behavioral standard he or she wants in their organization. When a member deviates from that standard, the leader must speak up and reinforce what it is. A time when I was persuaded that stands out is when I let my brother convince me to take Tech Ed as an elective in middle school.
