Unlock Behavior And Unleash Profits

I agree with your analysis of Gorsky’s article and the comparisons you have made between it and the book Unlock Behavior and Unleash Profits. The statement you cited made by Gorksy, “I needed to set the tone for the company,” highlights why leaders must be able to control the behavior of the members in their organizations. A leader must set the tone and display the behavioral standard he or she wants in their organization. When a member deviates from that standard, the leader must speak up and reinforce what it is. As Gorsky did in the example he provided when one member spoke over the other. This example also ties the article book and article together as Gorsky demonstrated great use of Braksick’s ABC analysis. Mr. Grosky had asked this member

After reading the article “Defeat Your Opponents; Then Hire Them”, I agree with the author that it can be dangerous for a president to surround himself with like minded people. Lincoln’s predecessor, James Buchanan, deliberately chose men for his cabinet who thought as he did and, with the agreement of those around him, did nothing to prevent the secession of Confederate states. He is now considered among the worst of our presidents. In term of organizational behavior, I believe if you’re able to identifying the strengths and weaknesses of your opponents and understanding the areas in which your opponent excel, you can avoid any direct confrontations that would play to their advantage. This can give you a strategic advantage by contrasting…

I’m not really into self-help books. It’s not because I don’t value external perspective, and it’s not because I’m not all touchy-feely, but simply because; most people don’t write books that relate to me as a person. I am a unique person in many ways and while there are some that touch on this experience or that personality trait, most just miss the mark for me. Leadership and Self-Deception: Getting out of the Box (Arbinger, 2010) is not one of those books.…
