The University Symphony Orchestra is one of the foremost orchestra present in the University of Michigan, it contains many of the best student musicians in the university. The orchestra played at renowned Hill auditorium, which has been a part of the university for more than 100 years and is very well known for it’s impeccable acoustics. University Symphony orchestra was conducted by Kenneth Kiesler, who is a highly decorated conductor. His illustrious career includes winning the American Prize in Conducting in 2011 and conducting orchestras all over the world. Furthermore, University of Michigan’s associate professor, Danielle Belen, was a guest violinist and played as the violin soloist on one piece of the three pieces preformed by the orchestra. Lastly, the third piece was “Become Ocean” by John Luther Adams. The first piece was played as an overture, the second piece was a concerto and the third piece was orchestral. These three pieces were played brilliantly by the orchestra and rightly received numerous standing ovations from the large number of audience.
