For as long as I can remember, I have had a love of learning, the desire to excel, and a strong determination to challenge myself and succeed. Growing up, my family ingrained in me the principles of working hard, helping others, and seeking out new opportunities.
As one of the most highly ranked business schools in the world, Ross School of Business will allow me to integrate these values into my academic pursuits. As highlighted in its Mission Statement, the University of Michigan emphasizes the importance of academic excellence in its development of leaders. I am especially attracted to its applied learning strategy, which provides an environment where I can participate in research, learn through hands on experience, be challenged intellectually, and participate in community development.

Particularly, I want to write for University of Michigan’s student publications, The Michigan Daily and Michigan Journal of Business. Furthermore, I plan to participate in the BBA Consulting club, to develop skills required to be successful in consulting. Other student organizations I learned about are the Muslim Student Association, and the Indian Subcontinent Business Association. Having a strong community connection to my faith and heritage is imperative, and getting involved in these groups will allow me to achieve it.
From the academics to the extracurricular activities, there is so much that I would like to be a part of at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I strongly believe in many facets of the university’s vision statement, including promoting diversity, working for economic growth and development, and the responsible stewardship of financial, physical, and environmental resources.
