Universal Studios Equation

Decent Essays
I went to Universal Studios in May and it was insane how expensive it was. We were required to stay at a Disney resort and I could not believe how expensive everything was. You could not get a single burger with nothing else for $15.00. It did not seem to be keeping people away. I think if prices continue to rise, attendance will continue to decrease.

Prices started at a cost of USD$1.00 for admission and from there you had to purchase extra tickets for the rides which cost 10-75 cents each. You could also purchase an 8-ride pass which cost $2.50. Charging an admission fee was unheard of for theme parks and this showed that Walt Disney wanted to differentiate from the standard amusement park and prove that his Disneyland was far superior.…

The CEO of Screamland Amusement Park believes the company can turn ticket sales around with advertising focused on safety to appeal to parents who purchase tickets for the park. His belief is that there is correlation between research from the car industry and how parents select activities for their children. While a new advertising campaign might have a positive impact, the rationale for the safety focus is not completely logical, and the campaign could use more research before being rolled out. First, the CEO sites research from the automobile industry that identifies safety as parents' number one concern when purchasing a car. While safety is important in this situation, there is no direct correlation to what parents think of safety at…
