I shouldn’t have to change myself so I could be friends with a group of people I didn’t even like anymore. I found three girls who forever changed my life. They showed me how much fun high school was and how beautiful life could be. Freshman year, I ran cross country and that was about it. Sophomore year, I ran cross country, played soccer, was in the Sound of Music, Knightsounds and Instruments of Praise, and sang in chapel for the first time. I began doing things that I loved and I found people who wanted to be with me, who wanted to invest time in me. It was beautiful. Each part of my worldview is Biblically based. Acts 28:31 says, “proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance.” Living in boldness, means living without fear, but with an eagerness to spread the Gospel through all that I do and say. Ephesians 6:11 tells me that when I am prepared in God, I can stand courageously. Joshua 1:9 talks about how I can be courageous because the God of the universe is on my side. Knowing that God is in control, I can embrace life’s storms. This is taken from one of my favorite songs, Oceans, which talks about how God will carry us through the good, the bad, and the ugly. Our souls will rest with God because I can’t be taken from him and he can’t be taken from me. Having the knowledge that God will never leave us, helps us believe anything is possible. This statement is found in Matthew 9:22b-24. “‘But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.” This is a really profound and important statement. I think Jesus gets frustrated when we put him into a box and pick parts of the Bible that fit our lifestyle, but ignore the rest. All things are possible for the one who believes.
