At times, the military is required to bring justice to its members, involving the established Uniform Code of Military Justice, a doctrine that serves as the United State’s military law. On the other hand, the military can be called up for outward justice, whether that is liberating Nazi concentration camps or killing Osama Bin Laden. In either circumstance, justice is achieved in doing what is right, whether legally or morally. When justice is required as a means of peace, it is again a responsibility of military forces. Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz once said, “For in this modern world, the instruments of warfare are not solely for waging war. Far more importantly, they are the means for controlling peace.
