Unit of Analysis The unit of analysis for exercise 8.2 is the country. The country is the unit of analysis because it is being described by the various variables of population, literacy, religion, fertility, predominate climate, and daily calorie intake.
Literacy in Brazil According to the data, 81% of 156,600,000, or 126,846,000 people are literate in the country of Brazil.
Cross-tabs Analysis The first variable I would use for cross-tab Analysis would be the variable of literacy. The second variable I would use is the variable of what country the individual is from.
Correlation Coefficients
i. For this scatterplot, there is a strong negative correlation between people who read and Fertility. Due to the strong correlation, I would estimate the correlation to be approximately -.80.

There is no positive or negative correlation between population and daily calorie intake. Calorie intake remains relatively consistent regardless of population with a couple of major outliers.

I think the mean is likely to be less than the median. I think this because the data is skewed towards a lower sale price, bringing the mean lower than the median.
B.
i. I think it would be best to use a mean to represent tax revenues. Using a median would result in your data being skewed towards the higher sale price for property tax. ii. I think median would be better to describe your community. Median would be more relevant because it would do a better job of representing your entire community.
Exercise 8.4
a. The units is in current salary. I believe the coefficient of the independent variable is ---- ---18331.178+3909.907xeducation level. From a starting point of -18331.178, 3909.907 is added for every one year of education.
b. The constant form is -18331.178. This is the starting point. What is interesting about it is that it is negative. That is odd because it suggests that if you had zero years of education, you would lose -18331.178.
