Unit 731: Cruelty In Research

Improved Essays
The articles this week reflects how we are truly surrounded by evil. I read in disbelief as I learned how so many incent people were neglected, tormented, and killed for research. The article about Unit 731 was very disturbing. I was repulsed as I read about the prisoners being placed in chambers to test how much pressure they could handle until there eyes popped out. I don’t understand how anyone could justify this type of cruelty. It was just as heartbreaking to know that those who were responsible for the deaths of so many humans were not held accountable by the government for their actions. I could not believe that they were allowed immunity for exchange for their research information. I understand that research is important; however, not

Robert, I couldn't agree more with you about the affect this resrarch project had on the families and public that were affected greatly by this project. It shocks me that the researchers would both lie and create false hope for the loved ones, that they had given their family members a voice. My question for you is what do you think their reason for lying was? You had mentioned that millions of dollars were potentially wasted, but I'm curious to see if by lying these researchers profited off their actions. I would also like to mention that your view on the perfect grammar and spelling of someone who is mentally challanged is spot on.…

There is a lot of information that we can learn from the OwlPurdue website. I would like to discuss the information that I learned from OwlPurdue.com website. Under the three subsections of “Conducting Research, Using Research, and APA Style that I was not aware of, there are important information that I can use in my research for my Thesis or professional development project. Under the Conducting Research, I knew that anybody can use interviews or surveys to get some information, but I never knew those were considered “Primary Research”. Medicine exceeds its scope with the growth of imperialism and the scientific role it plays in the two world wars. By December 7, 1941, the production of penicillin escalated with the US entrance to the war even though its exact chemical compound was still not figured yet (Ligon 58). Furthermore, scientific data on the human anatomy was used to justify the European imperialism specifically on the African continents (Gere). Several inhumane experiments were carried out on abducted Africans as research subjects with physical violation such as using forceps to analyze African woman’s private part; using drill to estimate Africans’ skull (Gere). All the researches accomplished for a single goal to support the European superiority.…

Animals ethics is a term to describe the way the human reacts with the animal and how the animal should properly be treated.
