Morgan, a peaceful explorer and newly employed young woman, was not expecting to have trouble at all that morning. In fact, it had been one of those mornings that seemed to point toward a fulfilling and bright day, and trouble seemed incongruous with the sun, birds, and cloudless sky. There was just nothing that Morgan could imagine that would ruin the promising start she was getting today.
That day she had planned on hiking out in the mountains, seeking to have a quiet day to herself. She was excited to observe the nature and have a private picnic with no one else around her but simply the elements. The few living things she expected to see were birds, rodents, and (if she were lucky and made little noise), a deer or two.

She was pale, trembling, and altogether extremely sickly. “By a snake…”
Morgan would have succumbed to her dizziness another time if it had not been for what her new profession was. She had just been recently employed a nurse.
Feeling the gravity of the situation yet not quite realizing just how opportune her timing was, she knelt and reassuringly asked the girl if she could get up. A swollen, reddened area on her ankle and a weak shake of her head told Morgan that she could not.
Morgan, feeling as though she were in a blur, gathered her strength and picked up the fallen hiker. A few minutes later, she was carrying her with a newfound ease she hadn’t known she had. She was pressed heavily by the gravity of the situation and didn’t quite know herself at the moment. All she could think of was to get the girl to her car as fast as she could.
Get her safe. Get her away, was the only thought that pounded away in her mind, seeming to drum in time with the rhythm of her beating heart.
Before she could realize it, she was there. Her tiny car, sitting peacefully in the dirt parking lot where she had left it. Morgan was relieved that her hike hadn’t taken her very far away from
