Definition of curriculum
In formal education, a curriculum (; plural: curricula,) is the set of courses, and their content, offered at a school or university. As an idea, curriculum stems from the Latin word for race course, referring to the course of and experiences through which children grow to become mature adults.

Inclusive curriculum refers to the process of developing and designing a programme of study to minimise the barriers that students may face in accessing the curriculum. By focusing on the core requirements of a course it is possible to identify aspects of the curriculum that might prevent some students from achieving. The task is then to redesign the course to

Vocational curricula have explicit outcomes and the content has input from the industry and the awarding body, our standards come from the Hair and Beauty Industry Authority, HABIA. Because the focus is largely practical it could be said that it fits in quite well to the process model. There are small units, separately assessed, but can be clustered, not dissimilar to the spiral model, as we can revisit previous units throughout the course as they are all interlinked. There can be a mixture of product and process model as assessment is specific and precise and relies on competency even though the model suggests it discourages creativity for both the learners and the teacher. While we have a variety of models coming in and out of the picture, one thing remains constant and that is the learner. We are restricted by HABIA and other organizations as to what we are to deliver, but not least by the fast pace of the fashion industry to which we are linked. Enrichment is therefore a massive part of the curriculum and often involves taking learners to shows and trade fairs to gain more ideas and gather knowledge on the industry as a whole and not just focusing on what happens within our organization.

Preparing to write the curriculum starts after the initial assessment of the learners. A pre-interview will take place and during this interview I can assess the skills necessary to gain entry
