Wednesday, pgs 105-110: The question was answered to who crucified Jesus and why, but there is one more question that is more spiritual… What was the meaning to all of it? God, of course, could have stopped Jesus from being killed, and so Jesus could have if he proclaimed himself as the Son of God. There is a deeper meaning to Jesus’ Passion and death- he did it for humanity! He died on the suffered and died on the cross so that humanity could be saved from the horrors of death.…
For the third boat project, all of the STEM subjects tied in for many reasons. Science ties in with being able to know how buoyancy works and be able to modify the boat to be able to perform much better in water. Using science to find mass, density, and volume is very important with this as well, making it easy to make calculations in the math area. Technology/Engineering helps with us building prototypes and using the scientific/engineering processes.…
Station Six: Captured After a fire destroys half of the camp’s food supply, your group heads out into the forest to hunt and gather food. As you are stalking a deer, a twig snaps and the animal bounds away. You glance around, knowing it was not a member of your group. Suddenly, you’re surrounded by grounders. They are dressed in their head-to-toe covering battle gear, carrying bows, arrows, and spears.…
They had an armored rotating gun which gave an entirely new concept for ship building. The naval battle broke out on March 9. The gun on the Monitor could only fire every 8-10 minutes but could outrun the Merrimack. The crew was ineffective at firing the gun so it took longer to reload and very inaccurate to fire but, the Monitor could out maneuver the Merrimack. During the battle the Monitor's pilothouse was hit disabling the helmsman and the ship went into shallow water.…
The 761st Tank Battalion was formed in the spring of 1942 and was the essential African American tank unit to see fight in the Second World War. Telling this regiment was a white Lt. Colonel, Paul L. Bates. As the unit fell under the examination of other white officers who were distrustful of blacks as warriors and especially as tankers, Bates pushed the 761st in its main goal for splendor. The 761st was suggested as the "mutt" unforeseen which inferred the power, similarly as other white units, was isolated piecemeal and consigned to infantry divisions for reinforce parts.…
The Gulf of Tonkin attack has stirred controversies that have persisted for decades. Classified documents and tapes, that were once classified, have been released recently. These materials have paved the way to the possibility that distorted facts led to the United States engagement in the Vietnam War. There is no arguing the fact that a North Vietnamese patrol boat attacked the USS Maddox while the ship was patrolling in the Gulf on August 2nd, 1964.…

The U.S. 1953-54 recession almost double the unemployment rate and many American were worried that Mexicans were taking all the jobs and so became imminent that they were a threat to the U.S. labor. These brought up Operation Wetback in 1954 and in June 1954 the U.S. Attorney General, Herbert Brownell, Jr., ordered a massive deportation drive (Meier and Ribera, 189). More than a million undocumented workers were rounded up and sent back to Mexico regardless if they had a family or not. Many were treated unfairly and cruelly, especially since most of the undocumented worker lived in the U.S. for a long time. Many other undocumented workers voluntarily left back to Mexico, but its drawbacks were that the program only delayed illegal border crossing…
1969 – Prime Minister Trudeau passed Bill C-150. The bill stated that homosexuality was no longer a crime, and that abortion was now allowed in certain circumstances. This also made it legal to buy contraceptives. Now, men over 21 years of age were legally allowed to be together.…
Some people say that the Marine Corps is becoming a second Army, that is simply not the case. Since the Gulf War the Marine Corps has been being deployed to areas like Iraq and Afghanistan by helicopter and airplanes, this makes it seem like they are becoming a second Army because of the long term deployments. The Marine Corps says that they do not intend on becoming a second Army, and there was an issued statement from 2011 Defense Secretary Robert Gates “The Marine Corps is not going to turn into a “second Army,” nor will it have to give up its distinctive role as the nation’s 911 force”. Like the statement says the Marine Corps is the first to fight because of the Marine Expeditionary Units they can deploy anywhere in 6 hours.…
Britain and Lieutenant-Colonel Ernest Swinton created a new fighting force called the tank. The tank provided more mobility on the Western Front and caused massive horror and destruction. Anyone who was in the path of the tank got crushed and obliterated as tanks did not feature windows to view where the tank was heading towards. The tank traveled on various terrains as it trudged through pretty much on all of the rocky conditions. The tank augmented mobility which the Allies and Central Powers primarily lacked during World War I.…
The year is 2052 scientist had developed mechanical augmentation and just made nano-augmentation (nano-aug). Regular human being hates the mechanical augmented (mech-aug) humans and can’t tell who the nano are augmented (nano-aug). Mech-aug humans have already sacrificed their flesh for better performance just to get shown up by nano-aug humans who have the same ability as their mech-aug brothers, they just appear more human. Agents having a kill switch/kill phase, so if any of the augs have betrayed the “United Nation Anti-Terrorist Coalition” (UNATCO) they will receive death immediately from the phase or in 24 hours if the switch has been flipped. People are suffering from the Gray Death unbeknownst to them the Gray Death was originally supposed…
Whilst it is true that the tanks were heavy, slow and difficult to manoeuver, these drawbacks were offset by the fact that they where fairly quiet; with the noise of planes overhead, this allowed them to advance with relative ease undetected. This made them incredibly significant. Especially as the battle of Cambrai was the first time that the tank had been used in such a large task force, which provided a huge sense of surprise and of course…
Being a candidate for the National Technical Honor Society is a huge achievement and honor. I feel as if I deserve this because of all the hard work I have done just to get here, and also the effort I have put into my school work to achieve this. My first year of highschool I decided to set a goal for myself. My goal was to get honor roll every nine weeks throughout my high school career. To achieve this so far I have had to be very determined about reaching my goal, and I have been.…
A grand Jury indicted the Ford Motor Company on charges of reckless homicide and criminal negligence that played a part to the death of three teenage girls on August 1978 in Elkhart, Indiana. They were killed in a fiery crash when their Ford Pinto was struck from the rear by a van driver on U.S Highway 33 near Goshen Indiana. Their automobile exploded and burst into flames. The Elkhart County grand Jury argued that Ford Company had previous knowledge that the fuel tank of pinto in which Judy Ulrich, 18; her sister Lynn, 16 and their cousin Donna Ulrich, 18 was hazardous. The grand jury stated that Ford Motor Company “had the legal right to warn the general public," - a legal obligation that ford failed to regulate.…
