Learning Journal Unit 5
Based on the results of your personal time survey and what you have read about dealing with stress and time management, discuss 3 specific personal strategies that you will use for improved time and stress management.
Also, include 3 – 5 words that were unfamiliar to you in the readings. Include their definitions. Vocabulary:
1. Aerobic: relating to or denoting exercise that improves or is intended to improve the efficiency of the body's cardiovascular system in absorbing and transporting oxygen.
2. Throes: intense or violent pain and struggle, especially accompanying birth, death, or great change.
3. Procrastination: the action of delaying or postponing something.
My personal strategies that involve dealing with stress and time management will start with making mental changes, it means to change the way I look at things. When negative thoughts appear on my mind, I need to recognize them and eliminate them. Learning to forgive my own mistakes is very important, after all, no one is perfect. I need to focus on what I can change, and let go of what is not in my control. Viewing problems as challenges to improve my problem solving skills is better than treating them as obstacles. I think a strategy which will work for me is to balance my responsibilities with my personal wellbeing. I can organize my time better by prioritizing my daily tasks. I will make a “to do list” every day to separate my most important tasks of the day from less important tasks, and not put off the important things for last. One thing that I must do is set out some time for unexpected circumstances. I have experienced stressful situations in the past for not doing so. So, I am going to add this strategy on my plan.
