VSphere 5.5 has introduced vNUMA which allows the Guest OS to be aware that they are running on a NUMA (Non Uniform Memory Architecture) topology. In the past and currently the big issue was that EIT could not build virtual machines with CPUs that would span over multiple physical sockets as this would create performance issues and contention when requesting resources. When this occurs it will use its own physical socket memory as well as the socket it has being spanned across causing that its own NUMA-aware resource management features would become problematic causing performance issues. EIT had to make sure that vCPU did not exceed the physical socket and that it is kept in its own NUMA node. The problem that arose was to not build big virtual …show more content…
The problem with this type of deployment is that it becomes difficult for storage administrators to investigate effectively issues that are experienced from a datastore level making troubleshooting more complex. A LUN (logical unit number) consists of a chunk of storage given to the hypervisor and presented as a datastore in virtual center .The other problem is that you cannot utilize the datastores fully as you need to have enough capacity for virtual machine snapshots and the growth of virtual machine files. If a few datastores become problematic it can affect that hypervisor and cause it to become unresponsive. When you delete a virtual machine the array itself cannot reclaim the storage blocks from the hypervisor. Although the datastores are assigned as thin provisioned disks to the hypervisor the storage admins still cannot control individual LUNs from the array side and in addition would become the virtualization administrator’s problem. Snapshots can cause the datastore to run out of capacity, which causes that virtual machines to enter into a suspended state if there is not enough capacity

The resistors R1, R2, RD, and RS calculated in the Prelab section were used to connect the circuit as shown in Figure 8-5. A load resistance RL of 10kΩ was used. The values of VD, VG, VS were measured and recorded. 3. The voltage vout was measured using an oscilloscope and the voltage gain AVG-D = vout/vin was calculated.…

Jonathan Desmond DCN Lab 5 Kali Kali is a live Linux distribution which can be put onto a USB and loaded directly onto a computer. Kali, having being bundled with a variety of testing tools such as Wireshark and Metasploit Framework, is utilized to assess the security of a target machine. The creator of Kali, Mati Aharoni first thought of the idea during a consultation which banned the use of external hardware as well as the stipulation that client computers could only be used if the data remained untouched. He then thought to use a live Linux distribution to assess the client’s security flaws.…

One thing that definitely went wrong in the lab was that we had to round about two of our measurements and the reason being was that they were exact. To exemplify, when we were reading the volume for the finishing measurement of the base for trial three, we got exactly 45.00 mL. The only problem was that, we had didn’t really have the two significant decimal numbers. Hence, we rounded our volume to 45.01 mL. Also, we got exactly 23.00 mL for our finishing volume of the acid for trial three. Therefore, once again we rounded it to 23.02mL in order to get at least two significant decimal numbers.…

OMIS 660 Business Computing Environment and Network Lab - 1 REPORT TCP: Transmission Control Protocol SUMMARY: The idea of TCP congestion control is for each sender to determine the available capacity in the network so that it knows how many packets can be safely transmitted. The congestion window is a state variable for each connection which is used by the sender to limit how much data a sender can transmit into the network before receiving an acknowledgement. This report consist of the simulation of different model of TCP transmission which demonstrates the congestion control using the variation of dynamic window size implemented by TCP (Transmission Control Protocol). Various models are considered where packet drop rates are varied for demonstration of different situations from…

The purpose of this lab was to analyze and examine periodic trends of the first 36 elements that are on the periodic table. Trends that were analyzed and examined are the atomic radius (AR) and the first ionization energy (IE) of the 36 elements. The hypothesis for this lab was that the elements that are in the groups that had the highest atomic radius would be in the same groups as those who have the the highest first ionization energy and the groups who have the lowest atomic radius would be in the same groups as those elements who have the lowest first ionization energy. In order for the lab to be completed, a chart that was split into four sections was made to collect all the necessary data that is needed to make the graphs. After the data has been collected, a graph that contains both trends was made on a piece of graph paper.…
