First Design:

From a personal, and logical perspective, my first design (the old T.V with the testing screen), is the best selection for my storage container. It fits the design brief criteria well. One of the reasons I have chosen this design is that it possesses unique qualities. It is very unlikely that any of my peers would have created a design like mine. This gives the storage container more potential to “stand out” when it is finished, as it will differ from the rest of the designs.

The second reason why I chose this design had to do with time management. As there are extremely straight strips of felt on my design, I have decided to straight stitch them onto the denim. This means that if I run out of time in

Firstly, (to oppose the first reason for the first question), this design is a bit boring. Mushrooms are very generic, and this design is a bit too simple. As the older models of T.V. are getting put out of use, they become uncommon (hence why it is a design that is unique. Mushrooms are very common and besides; I do not like mushrooms. I dislike their taste and somewhat their look, so I’d rather go for the T.V.

Secondly, dislike the bland set of colours on this design (red, green, brown and white). I prefer the T.V design more, as it includes a wider range of colours (eg. pink, blue). It just looks better on the eyes for me.

Lastly, I didn’t choose this design because it has more felt pieces on it. The felt makes up most of both of the designs, making it the most time-consuming item to sew onto the storage container. This means the fewer pieces involved, the quicker the storage container will take to finish; the higher chance of finishing on time. The first design has nine pieces of felt, whilst this one has twelve.

There are a couple things that I would change about this design for the future. One thing is that I would change the font that I chose. I feel like the letters don’t flow very well; the need to be more “flowery” to match the theme of the container (plants etc.). They need to become more rounded, and circular. That would work

The memory of 126 Riverside Drive will always stay with me. The concrete in front of the apartment overlooking the park is separated into squares and covered in old gum and the occasional chalk doodle. You go up and stand on the single black concrete step and look up at the black marble and the silver 126. You walk in the clear glass door and walk onto the faded tile floor that goes from the bottom of the few lonely stairs through the next door and to the elevator. You feel the cold from the faded brass handrail and walk up the stairs to the buzzer with a list of all the apartments.…

As CCI note 13/3 mentions, my primary reason for choosing rolled storage for the scarf is that it is a space saver. Since folding the object is not recommended (Nielson 213), it would be difficult to find a storage space for the scarf that would be able to accommodate the length of the scarf without wasting storage space. Additionally, keeping the scarf rolled makes it much easier to move than if it was stored lying flat. The one pitfall to rolled storage is that in order to view the textile, a fair amount of handling has to ensue. However, attaching a tag with detailed information and a colour photo of the scarf, as detailed by CCI note 13/3, helps to reduce the amount of handling that could occur by allowing staff to see what it is without…

and it looks like it’s with the times. The idea of it’s just being a target with the name of the product over the top of the target. The use of only three colours (including the name tide) makes it easy to remember just yellow, orange, and blue. This design has been around before I was born and it looks modern to this very day.
