Assignment 5.1

Case management software is known to be a top component of litigation support. I have compared and contrasted the features of two computerized case management systems and will later recommend the system that I would prefer to work with. The first system I will be discussing is called Practice Panther; this software is versatile and rather inexpensive. The other system, Cosmo Lex, is a little pricier but it too is versatile and easy to understand. Since I was unable to gain access to get into these software’s I did a lot of reviewing and overlooking of both of their websites and also found a few video tutorials to get a better understanding of both of these software programs.

The first software program, Practice Panther, seemed to be very versatile and was rated as a 4 star program according to their website. This software program offered a lot of different and very useful tools. For example; a law firm has access to a contact and matter management system, document management, invoicing, time keeping, credit card processing, office calendar and email, QuickBooks, and a mobile app. Also, there are tasks, events, and workflow area where law firms can better prioritize work, there is also a client portal where clients may access their personal information via a secure portal, and access to trust accounts for clients.

Cosmo Lex is offered to law forms at $49 per month and that includes all of the above features as well as web training and data migration. Cosmo Lex did not offer as much as Practice Panther, however both software programs are very useful in law

I think that apps should be allowed to use this information if it provides for a better experience, such as using google maps to get accurate directions. However, I would like to block most apps and my service provider from accessing my location.…
