How important are the first five minutes of the class?
The first five minutes of the class are as important as the first impression one must leave during a job interview (you only get one shot at it). Those first minutes are crucial because it is during those first five minutes, or so, that teacher and students connect. What message and impression is passed on to the students by the teacher may very well determine the outcome of the lesson to be presented, as well as the attitude and behavior of the students.
