Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism
Christianity, Hinduism, and Judaism are the three religions that I have chosen to research and report on. Christianity is the world’s largest religion; approximately 2.4 million people are Christian. Also, 15% of the world’s population is Hindu and is the world’s third largest religion. There are about 14 million Jews in the world.
Christianity is basically the belief in one God and that Jesus is the savior of humanity. Jesus was said to have powers such as the power to heal, many people followed him and his methods of health and purity. This religion was created approximately 2,000 years ago, born in Palestine (Promised Land). There are many variations of the bible (set of guidelines or ways of life). Christians …show more content…
Abraham is the central figure, the patriarch. They believe in one God and that Jews were the chosen people of God. Judaism is a blood matter therefore you have to be born into it to be considered and accepted as a Jew. The Torah is a set of laws and regulations consisting of 613 good and bad commandments. Jews also use these guidelines in their everyday life.
Human life has infinite value; the preservation of life supersedes all other considerations. Health care coverage is provided and is given to the poor along with the wealth. However medical treatment was considered meddling with God’s work and will. The belief that you were suffering because you are supposed to suffer was commonly accepted by all. If there were any questions on how to handle a medical situation it would be asked to the Rabbi.
They are ultimately against suicide and abortion. Abortion may be permissible if the life of the mother is threatened. When a family member is in the hospital, although the family would often like to come and visit, no friend or family member is allowed to visit because it is considered interfering with God’s plan. On Sabboth holidays Hindus need more attention and it is the nurse’s job to watch for them because on these days they do not use electricity. So if the need help they won’t use the call button that alerts the doctors and nurses to come and help
