In this assignment I will be evaluating care strategies that can be used initially to help and support the individual disorder and the disorder I will be discussing will be Dementia.
The positive aspects in having patients in a hospital setting it allows them to care for by a nurse that’s nearby. Also this strategy would help the individual a lot and this strategy works. A nurse has special training and background in caring for and teaching people with diabetes. A nurse works closely alongside with the doctor this would be in a hospital setting , for example it would be the nurses role to keep the doctor updated when the individual is due for a blood test so that the doctor can refer the individual for a blood test. And in this section I will be using a school as an example. People are to be treated the same as everyone else, therefore ensuring that whichever educational setting a patient with diabetes goes to, they must be looked dafter in a confidential way. For example, someone who goes to school or college. This individual will be surrounded with people who are eating junk food, snacks and sugary food and this can be influencing and it may make the individual eat foods that isn’t suitable for them and this may make them not control their sugar levels leading to other dangers. Therefore the school nurse should be aware, the student’s teacher should also be aware. This is a positive aspect as this is ensuring that the patient is being looked after and supported therefore the care strategy is working. On the other hand, this could be a negative thing; this is because being treated differently due to his/her disorder could make the person feel upset and unworthy or left out. This is then having an effect on once confidence, self image and self esteem. Considering this individual has diabetes as a teenager is hard as the person’s body is already going through a lot go changes as it is. Therefore this care strategy may not work as it could turn the other way. Also, this individual may feel different from other peers and class …show more content…
Also the benefits massage brings is that, Massages improves a person’s immune system; it also improves circulation, increasing the flow of oxygen to and nutrients to cells and tissues, this is important because if for instance someone is a smoker it can mean that this individual can still get a massage without having difficulty breathing. Therefore if a patient receives a massage it wouldn’t affect the individual in any way which is a positive aspect, unless he has some sort of irritation to the oils. Massaging helps the circulation of the body and helps a client physically, mentally as it can be a form of distressing mechanism. Massaging would allow clients to feel less anxious and he/she wouldn’t feel so stressed. If regular massages were done, the individual would feel less depressed and it would allow them to feel better about themselves. This then allows them to have a better self esteem. This also contributes to once health and well being, as it’s all about how you see yourself and feel about yourself. This is a major aspect and this would have a big effect on a person’s self-esteem and self-image. This also links with the looking glass theory. This theory talks about how one person can stand in front of people they care about. This theory talks

For care staff, during the day on each shift I arrange an assistant manager and two care assistants. I instruct the assistant manager to make a report on each resident, the report is written down in the daily report book. When changing shifts the report book is discussed with the assistant manager who is coming on shift. I give more responsibility to the senior staff, for instance, they give out the medication and are responsible for residents requiring a lot of care. I also allocate the senior staff the supervision of the junior staff to ensure they carry out procedures correctly and thoroughly, this also helps the junior staff be more familiar with the work and gain experience.…
