Give atleast 6 example for each age group in each development stage. The ages under each section are;

Social; 0-6 months, 6-18 months, 1-2 years, 2-3 years, 3-5 years, 5-7 years, 7-11 years, 11-16 years, 16-19 years.

Intellectual; 0-1 years, 2-4 years, 5-7 years, 7-11 years, 11-16 years, 16-19 years.

* Stares at parent/carer. * Cries when basic needs require attention. * Gaze caught by and follows dangling objects. * Follows movement of large and small objects. * Very curious, easily distracted by movement. * Immediately fixes sight on small objects that are close by and reaches out to grasp them. * Puts everything in their mouths. * Watches toys/objects fall from their hands within their range if vision. * Drops things deliberately and watches them fall – this is called casting. * Looks in the correct place for items that have rolled out of their sight. * Recognizes familiar people at a distance of up to 6 metres.

2-4 years;

* Can build a tower of 3 bricks when they have been shown. * Turns the pages of a book, several at a time to start with and enjoys picture books, pointing at named objects. * Can point at interesting objects outside. * Can point to parts of their body. * Can copy circles, crosses and draws a man with a head only. * Can match two or three primary colours. * Can paint with a large paintbrush and can cut using scissors. * Can hold a pencil. * Can copy squares and a range of letters with some being spontaneous.

5-7 years;

* Can draw a man with head, body, arms, legs and features and will draw a house. * Colours pictures in neatly. * Can name primary colours and can match ten or more colours. * Knows the time of day for
