The historical information is that this story was a true story, about a boy named Werner and a magician named Herr Levin that were sent to a concentration camp because they were Jewish. Since it was the 1930’s Hitler was in charge of Germany, and the Germans guessed that he put the Nazi families in danger so that they would do his bidding! The Germans went and started the 2nd World War against the Allies. (U.S., Britain, France, Australia, Belgium, Canada, etc...)
The geographical information is that this story unfolds in Auschwitz, Germany. Hitler wanted to rid the world of Europe’s Jews forever! Germans were starting to become pretty intense in the 1930’s during Hitler’s reign over Germany. The cultural side of things was equally as bad!
