Some may ask is unemployment actually a social problem? The answer is and always will be most definitely yes. The rate of unemployment has played a huge part in the affect in our society. Unemployment leads to people being homeless, and hungry. When you aren’t able to provide food for your family or yourself, social services come into play and provide for you enough to get you by and live off of. Our government is continually providing for the homeless and unemployed and extending benefits for them when they are looking past the fact that they could not be even looking for a job or any other ways then to live off what is given to them through the government. It turns out its nit actually like that at all actually. To know the real truth and facts you would have to dig a little deeper than just listening to the media. They are always going to say what is going to make more for their story and give them more attention. The media is not helping the unemployment rate is most ways and people have no clue what the truth really is if all you do is listen to what the media says. The facts are that the media doesn’t report about the people that have lost their job but have lost their unemployment and it is not on file anymore so automatically they are taken off the list of “unemployed” citizens. There is plenty of work that needs to be done and plenty of money to pay. The only situation with that is that Obama has already made the opportunity for thousands of people to get jobs even if it is just for minimum wage. The real problem isn’t that there aren’t any jobs, it’s that the people that want the jobs can’t get them because of one thing I already talked about and that is their education and experience in that specific field. The people don’t fit the criteria for that position so it makes their options a lot slimmer. One of the biggest problems that we face in the unemployment problem is immigration. We attract a lot of immigration from all over the world to try and work in the United States and that just puts more and more people out of work every year. Even though this is large problem that many people have to go through, I personally look at it in other ways. The way I see it is that the reason a lot of people are unemployed, and I’m not saying that this is all of them, but their efforts in trying to actually get a job. This isn’t the case in them all, but I just see so many people coming from other countries and getting decent jobs because they are willing to put in the time and the work to get what they want.
