Unemployment in my country of origin
Unemployment in my country Philippines is an ongoing problem that the government have been trying to resolve over the past decades. According to the study, causes for unemployment is overpopulation, over production of labour force and inability to take on available jobs. Philippines has an average of 1.7% high population growth rate in the past few years. This is higher in the world’s population growth rate with an average of 1.2%.The high population growth rate is the fast supply of graduates finding themselves unemployed. Second cause of unemployment is, over production of labour force and inability to take on available jobs(structural unemployment).Undergraduates who took up popular course that is previously …show more content…
Time related under employment- people who wanted to work extra hours regardless of how many work he or she currently working. Working hours of an employed individual is insufficient.An Example of this when a person can work below 35 hours per week but he or she can work above 35hours per week.
2. Skill-related underemployment- this occur when worker wants to replace his or her current work inorder he or she can work fully and available to do so.An Example of this when a person currently working as a bartender but have time to work as a nurse where her skills is likely more advantage.
3. Income- related underemployment- this occur when worker wants to replace his or her current work to increase more of his or her income and were available to do so.An Example of this when a worker has increase his financial needs because of his or her growing family then he or she is willing to replace a job who has higher income.
4. Over qualification or over education, or the employment of workers with high experience in jobs that do not require such abilities,higher education and skill level.An example,a trained registered nurse who works as a cashier would experience this type of …show more content…
It can manage unemployment by creating policies and develop employment.Policies and regulations that are favourable for investors to bring their businesses into the Philippine market.This would help create jobs for many,This will help boost the economy and will reduce the unemployment rate in my country of birth the Philippines.
