About fifteen years ago I read somewhere about joy journaling. The basic premise was that you kept a small journal in your pocket or purse and when anything happened that made you happy you simply wrote it in the journal. I loved the idea immediately. Soon after I was writing down all sorts of little moments from my life that made me smile. Sometimes it was a really big moment, like a new baby in the family and sometimes it was small, like a good latte in the morning. The great thing about this kind of journaling is that only good things were allowed. It made me focus on those moments, unlike a normal journal which could have positives mixed in with the negatives. I don 't use a dedicated joy journal anymore, it has evolved into a monthly gratitude list in my current bullet journal. Each day I write one thing that made me happy that day. I like this approach because the perfectionist side of me doesn 't like to see any days skipped in the month, so it forces me to dig deep sometimes to find the
