Third and final requirement is completion of two years of college or two years in the armed service. Community service is one important aspect of this bill. To be considered for citizenship, undocumented children must complete five hundred hours of community service. Starting in grade
School these undocumented children will be required participate in community outreach programs.
Programs like City year and Year up reach out to at risk children and provide a constructive environment to improve our community. Using these programs will provide a valuable opportunity for these undocumented children to serve their community. This process also allows members in the community to get to know these children. Americans must realize these are children and treat them as such.
The next requirement is completion of one-year internship with a community program and graduation of high school This is where these undocumented children find their identity in our community. The United States of America believes in education. These Undocumented children deserve a college education. After completion of their two-year degree we will grant them citizenship.
Unfortunately, we will always need an armed force to protect us. I can think of nothing that better describes what it means to be an American then to serve in the armed forces. The two-year commitment to the armed forces is an option to those wishing to opt out of two years of college and gain citizenship. They will sign a contract with the military branch of their choosing and upon completion will be granted citizenship.
The opposition will have you believe that these undocumented children are criminals or terrorists. In their minds these so called Illegal aliens are nothing more than a plague on society. If left alone that will damage the foundation on the United States of America. America was built by immigrants. The first immigrants to colonize America came to be free from religious persecution.
