The Standards of Care are the governing and indicate how we exercise our profession and it is our duty to provide quality services without putting the patient safety at risk. Standards of care are the skills and knowledge commonly possessed by members of a profession” (Guido, 2014, p.54). Describing the minimal requirements by defining an acceptable care level like checking for no unnecessary harm happens to the patient in their care. They can be differentiated with objectives that are goals, philosophies that states why an action is performed and guidelines that recommends courses for the actions.“Today’s healthcare environment is one in which it is imperative to attend to concerns for providing quality patient care in ways that are cost-effective”.
