A study from American Association of Colleges of Nursing states, “The shortage of nursing staff may be affecting health care quality and patient satisfaction”. We can not just settle with just having 50% of our patients receiving good care and also not having enough staff to properly take care of them. According to Suter (2009), “patient focus is based on needs of assessment that drive the service planning and information to desire and design internal possesses to improve patient satisfaction and outcomes”. My goal is to increase 50% of patient satisfaction care to 100%, so I am going to implement the following strategies to help boost up our patient satisfaction and I can sit down with the team about increasing patient expectations First strategy: Making eye contact with the patient. When giving patients direct eye contact that is showing them that you care about their needs and wants and also it makes them feel more comfortable about their visit. Second strategy: Positive communication is the key. According to Nevidjon (2001) states, “ that poor communication often leads to patient dissatisfaction”. We must find a way to enhance patient/physician engagement for a more positive, patient satisfaction. If you see a patient and his/her family trying to find a particular office, or physician go along with them and give them a brief tour of the facility while trying to find the physician, or doctor’s office, so when they come back again they are familiar about where they are going. I believe the biggest and the most important thing is apologizing to a patient when a problem arise things are said when a patient is upset because we don’t know what that
