I truly learned a lot about general dentistry while doing my research. It’s a profession I’ve been interested in since I was a child, though this paper has allowed me to understand the pros as well as the cons of dentistry. I knew that general dentistry pays well, but I didn’t know that that it is the tenth highest paid career in the United States. I also hadn’t considered another important fact: general dentistry allows for a great lifestyle as well as many service opportunities. I didn’t know this but BYU has one of the highest dental school acceptance rates in the country. Dental school applicants from BYU have an 61% acceptance rate, which is far above the national average of around 45%8. Dentistry is a demanding yet very rewarding
