Understand The Importance Of Occupation In Everyday Life

While I have had many experiences in my time during observation impact me immensely to help me understand the importance of occupation in daily life, none compare to my more personal experience, my brother. During high school, my brother compound fractured his leg in a football game, ending his future to go play baseball in college. In his particular case, he had 14 surgeries to repair the broken bones as well as infection. He suffered great depression and loss of hope all in the process of trying to regain function of his leg again. As a year passed he had still been in therapy with an external fixator having no sense of hope for the future. Although, one day in therapy I experienced something I’ll never forget while watching him do his exercises.
