Children have better experiences in the school environment when they trust their teacher and feel loved, some important characteristic of a child care provider should be: self-awareness, empathy, interpersonal skills, reflectiveness, interest, flexibility and openness, reliability, emotional stability.
Having a clear understanding of our strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs and emotions means we are self-aware of our personality, realizing how people perceive us and our actions is very hard but with practice we can become flexible and make changes in our behavior and beliefs.

Reflectiveness can lead to another characteristic such as flexibility, because if something is not working or not giving the results we wanted we must be able to assess our ways and find new methods to make it work. That is a good reason why a teachers emotional stability is very important too, nothing should be taken personal, we should accept diversity and always remain calm when we have to deal with disturbing events, or when we face stress or pressure from others. For example parents sometimes will expect a teacher to be an expert on a subject and meeting their demand can put a lot of pressure, but constantly studying and keeping up with the development in all the field will give us confidence when dealing with their feelings.
Being honest, true and always correct with all the children and parents will make us reliable and trustworthy. Parents are expecting the teachers to follow the rules and keep children safe and be fair no matter what, especially when evaluating their children, the criteria has to be clear and
