1.1 Explain the purpose and benefits of planning work, and being accountable to others for own work
Prioritising my workload is essential to my role and in my opinion the most effective way to manage my work, ensuring deadlines are met on time and that work flows in a smooth and orderly fashion. Dependent on the nature of the work, I must use my initiative to determine which task is of most importance and complete tasks in order of priority. I believe the best way to learn is from your own mistakes. Therefore, it is vital I am able to recognise my mistakes in order to take something positive from them. After making a mistake or doing a task the long way round I am able to recognise where I have gone wrong and how to improve or succeed at the task the next time round. This is valuable way of developing new skills and techniques and discovering new tools to assist me in overcoming obstacles and when facing new challenges.

I am always conscious of being considerate towards colleagues and respecting others needs as well as my own. Respecting boundaries is very important and ensuring boundaries are not jeopardised in any way by my behaviour or actions. It is also important to resist any temptation to lack professionalism when my work is criticised and emotions come into play.
Using good email etiquette demonstrates respectful and considerate methods of electronic communication between co-workers and prevents unnecessary misunderstandings or confusion. To demonstrate how bad email etiquette might convey a lack of consideration or respect, with the use of capital letters or exclamation marks (suggesting you are shouting or giving the appearance of an abruptness to the tone of the message).
