A Master’s degree in Public Health will allow me to address challenges in providing primary care to underserved populations, such as improving health literacy through health education programs. The health education programs will help improve health literacy by providing underserved populations with information on chronic diseases, maintenance of health and wellness, and access to care and services. The programs will help reduce health risk behaviors, such as poor nutrition, lack of physical exercise, and factors that increase stress. The underserved populations will learn about the factors that influence their health, such as the risks of alcohol and tobacco use. Individuals will also learn to adopt and practice healthy behaviors and lifestyles
