Underage Drinking
Alcohol is one of the most commonly used and abused drug among teenagers in the United States. Excessive drinking is responsible for more than 4,300 deaths among teenagers each year. As a result, there has not been much done to avoid this situation. Since, the age was actually set to twenty-one around 7000 to 10,000 lives have been saved. Nevertheless we still have teens drinking illegally and harming their lives and others. In addition, stricter laws, educational programs, and parent involvement should be implemented to prevent underage drinking from happening due to the fact that it is essential to saving young lives.
Young adults are in the age of having fun and feel like they are the ones that control their life. But not all see that consequence to their action. Not every teenager understand, a parent’s worries about their health and well being. Binge drinking can affect your ability to reason, as well as judgement. Some symptoms include dizziness, overestimation of skills and slow reflexes. Theses activities usually happen out with a group of friend or parties , young adults are curious and try almost anything . “They only live once” is what most young adult excuse to doing something that is not safe. This may seem like a risk to some drivers out on the road or pedestrians. Around 4700 people die from a teenager driving under the influence of alcohol. This is a big issue that can be stopped, these are innocent people who are doing their everyday thing , either getting home from long day of work or simply out on the road. Driving is a privilege not a right, meaning teens get a privilege to be out on the road they prove they are responsible enough to drive so why do they not do it responsibly.
