Underage Drinking In College

Underage drinking has been a problem in many states especially during teenagers’ college years. College students are abusing their freedom privileges by drinking excessively putting themselves in danger. Having the freedom to do anything without parent guidance has caused may teenagers to lose their lives because of immaturity and being irresponsible. Universities are trying to find ways to reduce the problem in fear that the student will be hospitalized, injured, or even dead. Deaths and injuries from alcohol has been a major concern at universities and even though it may be out of the official’s hands, they can contribute a lot to help reduce these problems. Having alcohol-free organizations give students some time to enjoy friends without being intoxicated. These organizations can also have fruit or strong drinks to substitute from the alcohol that were once at parties. The alcohol-free gatherings still will give students their freedom just without the alcohol. This also follows the law since drinking under the age of twenty-one is illegal. Having the alcohol-free organizations not only helps reduce universities but it will also be a good way to promote the university and attract more students. College students under the age of twenty-one are adults but not necessarily because there are many things that they cannot do because of the legal ages. Some students may have gone through things with their family or their surroundings that have caused them to drink their problems away.
