Kevin Plank was born August 13, 1972 in Kensington, Maryland. He is one of five boys. His father, William was a land developer. His mother, Jayne Harper was a former mayor. She also was the director of the office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs at the United States Department of State. She worked under President Ronald Reagan.

Kevin went through problems. He immediately thought companies would buy the apparel. Some did, but not enough to buy the bills. He told article writer Richard Feloni, "I was so broke, I couldn't even check for loose change in the ashtray, in the seat cushions," (Feloni). It wasn’t until Georgia Tech bought his apparel, that he was getting deals with colleges and football teams. His idea didn’t become a big success because he was lucky, it’s because he was determined, passionate and a fighter. Seth McNew, a writer at “The Motley Fool” wrote that without Kevin Plank Under Armour wouldn’t be possible. Seth said, “At the helm of this high-growth company is Kevin Plank, an innovative and passionate entrepreneur, and also a fighter” (McNew). This are some of the characteristics that made Kevin a successful entrepreneur.
Under Armour a company that wouldn’t exist without Kevin Plank. He started as man who wanted to change the way of sport apparel. He is now a father and husband. One who won the keynote speaker of the year. He will push Under Armour to the next level. He is looked at as an amazing entrepreneur. Only time will tell if he stays that
