Uncut Diamond Theme

Someone once said “A child is an uncut diamond”. This was said because a child is an uncut diamond, they are innocent and haven’t seen the world for what it really is. In this essay I will explain the theme of the novel Ender’s Game by Orson Scott and summary of the plot. The theme of Ender’s game is the difference between the child and the adult, and how the child believes the adult who is untrustworthy.
To begin with, the novel Ender’s Game by Orson Scott is about a young boy by the name of Ender Wiggins. Ender is the youngest of John and Theresa Wiggins with their other two children Peter and Valentine. Ender was the prefect student to go to the Battle School to help fight the Buggers. He was a perfect mix of Peter and Valentine. Peter was too violent, wanting to kill and destroy the bugger without any remorse. He was to quit to quick kill them and would sacrifice a whole league of soldiers without any

Ender is a child, he is only six years old when he is chosen to go to the battle school. Ender is very intelligent for his age, he is picked to participate in these trials or simulations to help kill the buggers. Because Ender is still a child he believed what the adult and what they said telling him how these trials were extremely important and how he must not fail. He believed them when they said that they weren’t real and that it was only practice. He was just an innocent child and trusted every word they said to him, and in the end he didn’t realize the damage he had really done. The adult all knew that ender would really just kill them all. He believe that he was just helping them to leave and go back to their home planet. Every adult was in on it and they had all lied to him.
In Conclusion, that was the difference between the child and adults in novel Ender’s Game by Orson Scott. Because as someone once said “A child is an uncut diamond” and they have untouched
