However, we can’t visually see the meaning of each pattern or the different dimensions that constellation of neurons produce. In order to understand the different dimensions, we use math. With math, we can see the different patterns of the neurons, then with the patterns we can determine what face an individual was looking at. However, since our eyes move about every 3-4 seconds, we don’t visit the point perfectly. Meaning, that our transitions from looking to one thing to another are smooth since different neurons are constantly activated when looking at different …show more content…
This lecture relates to classification that was discussed in Core. For instance, if certain neurons are activated with certain faces, then perhaps our basis of classification is based on these neurons. In other words, the different activation of different neurons could lead to different emotions about different things which will result in us classifying something in a certain way. For instance, perhaps people have trouble classifying Pluto since some people relate Pluto to Disney since there is a dog name Pluto. Neurons most likely overlap when Pluto the planet (maybe) and Pluto the dog are talked about, thus also creating similar joyous emotions. The positive emotions that are produced when talking about Pluto (the spherical shaped object in space), are the thing that people do not want to let go of since denying Pluto planet hood is like denying Pluto the dog. Some people love Disney too much to deny the lovable
