While I read the twenty principles from UncommonSense Framework, I realized all of those principles applied to me sometime during my high school career; however, there were a couple that stood out the most to me. I have spent much time teaching and mentoring students in out junior high school and illustrating my leadership abilities. I have accomplished many activities that had to be executed thoroughly with myriad responsibilities. Past these three distinguished principles, I have had to demonstrate integrity, honesty, courage, and unity every day in my high school career, whether it be inside or outside of school. Teaching and mentoring students is a big part of my life as a high schooler. I have chosen learning and mentoring because …show more content…
I spend time going over the material with the girl to make sure she fully understands the concept and then I assist her with her homework to assure she achieves a good grade. I am also a part of PEERS Project. It is a program that teaches children to abstain from sexual activity, alcohol, and drugs. Some of my peers and myself made up a presentation to present to junior high students to convince them to be involved in only healthy relationships. I have seen this program make a dramatic impact on children in all ages but especially within the seventh and eighth grade. I have seen children completely change their ways and have a sufficiently better outcome in their school year. The program I am most passionate about is Big Brothers Big Sisters because in this program I am able to mentor a junior high student. Since you must be sixteen to mentor, I just joined the program last year as a junior. As being knew to the program so was my “little sister.” She was knew to the school and did not have many friends so she was shy. This was a difficult time for my little so I knew I needed to do my best to try to get her to respect me and trust me. We met every Wednesday for thirty minutes to hang out with …show more content…
I knew during the difficult times with my “little sister” I had to be responsible and try to get my little to open up by doing different exercise and games. I have chosen responsibility as one of my principles because I have many responsibilities this school year such as making sure my little tries her best in school and stays out of trouble. To me, responsibility means taking on difficult tasks to help with some major event or to assist in helping another person. Being responsible means to showing an individual that you are a good person and you can finish any task you have taken on. This year, I have taken on the responsibility of being my school’s Student

Sometimes in life you arrive at a place or a time, either physically or mentally, to which the extent of the journey is not immediately obvious. Always aware of the destination, yet focused more on immediate challenges, at some point you look up and realize just how far you have gone, and think “How did I get here?” This essay is a brief chronicle of my personal journey into the ranks of Tang Soo Do toward Cho Dan, of how Tang Soo Do philosophy has incorporated itself into my life, and what it means to me to become a part of the Tang Soo Do black belt community. When reflecting on how to behave or what action to take, remember the Golden Rule- “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Similarly, Hunter references the Law of Harvest saying, “You reap what you sow” (2012, p. 85). In other words, if you do something for me, I will do something for you, which exemplifies how a servant leader meets the needs of those he serves and in turn builds authority. Teachers want to be acknowledged, rewarded, and feel valued by their principal. Putting this principle into action will create a healthy learning environment and a faculty focused on fulfilling the school vision.…
