I recommend not playing multiplayer until you have finished the campaign, since the controls can be hard to grasp for players new to the series. I had a blast rolling, shooting, and swinging through the gorgeous maps that Naughty Dog has brought us. The game truly eliminates a “one man army” and promotes teamwork. I found myself moving with my teammates to win matches instead of going lone wolf.

The most interesting aspect of the multiplayer is that you can take is easy, while also playing serious. The landscapes around you give a feel that you aren’t forced to avoid game placed barriers, but that you are navigating against natural terrain that has always been placed there. Whether i’m sliding down a snow covered slope, or jumping across a destroyed bridge, I feel as if i’m simply having a parkour experience.. With guns. Uncharted’s campaign seeps into the roots of multiplayer tremendously, giving gunfights a story behind each

This game plays a worthy tribute to Nathan Drake, wrapping up the trilogy in a nice neat bow. Players who are new to the franchise will find that they are just as satisfied as experienced veterans. Nathan Drake has never looked better before and you get to see him as a child, young man, and his current age. Nathan’s eyes look less colorful before and wrinkles are now in place of where his once smooth skin was. Nevertheless Nathan Drake ends his journeys with a story of love, hope, hate, fear, and adventure. It’s hard to say goodbye to Nathan, but Naughty Dog knew what they were doing with this

QA Lab day one: I tested five games during this QA lab ,There Might Be Ponds, office mayhem, Kanji Samurai, The Fog, and an unnamed tower defence game. All five of the games tested where digital and for the most part functional. I had never tested these games before this being my first QA lab. I enjoyed most of the games thoroughly but i found myself liking There Might Be Ponds the most. Skyrim is an amazing game that can be played on an Xbox 360, on a PC, as a PC download, or on a Playstation 3. Skyrim can be played as a multiplayer game, however, it is better to play it alone, because you get the full effect. That, and it is more functional to play it as a single player game. Skyrim is complicated when it comes to online access. The game itself is not an online game, but you do need internet access for a PC download or to install it on an Xbox 360.…

Video games are arguably even less associated with storytelling than comics are, with some critics believing “that the video-game form is incompatible with traditional concepts of narrative” (Bissel, 93). Where the medium truly excels, however, is with its capacity for immersion. Like how the addition of sound allowed filmgoers to not just watch the action but hear it, “Every new medium that has been invented … has increased the transporting power of narrative” (Rose, 36). Where readers of books and viewers of movies are passive, gamers take an active role in their narratives. In games like Mass Effect this means making key decisions that affect the development of the plot, but in games like Naughty Dog’s Uncharted and The Last of Us, this…

While I sit here playing Red Dead Redemption by Rockstar San Diego it reminds of a lot of action adventure games. The game resembles any other game I have played, but the animations during the hunting sense are something to be seen. My character is equipped with a carbine rifle that he uses to hunt a variety of animals. The hunting aspect of the game is so appealing; in fact, it I was so overcome by it that I lost focus of what my other objectives where. Red Dead Redemption, not only allows the player to shoot your prey, but the player can also skin and harvest prey, and it’s the harvesting that makes the hunting so rewarding this game.…

Funniest Game of the Year, Kudos… I think that we can all agree that, for a long time now, the word “horror” has been losing its meaning throughout all kinds of media and entertainment, mostly because of the incredibly infamous “jumpscares” and lack of creativity when it comes to build up tension with the player/viewer. So, when I saw Albino Lullaby (a game that brags about its inventive methods of horror, and how it promises to be a horror game without jumpscares nor gore) I was pretty excited, thinking to myself that perhaps someone finally attempted to create an Outlast-like game without the gore. What I didn’t know was the catastrophic pile of glitches and definitely not scary horrible–ness that was awaiting me.…

Ever since I can remember video games have always been my escape. On my ninth birthday I received my xbox 360 and since that day I have never look back. With my xbox I have made memories and friendships that will last life a life time. Although some believe things in life are either good or bad, it can be seen through Xbox that things are both good and bad, but it’s the proportion between good and bad that matters, this can be seen through new games, finishing games, and new systems that proves that a disproportionate amount of good versus bad creates good memories. With the Xbox there were many games that I have played that have taken me on hundreds of adventures.…

Preconceived notions have been made about whether or not our pop culture may act as a hindrance in our world. Children playing video games acquire important skills such as academic success, decision-making and creativity.
