I would recommend this book to anybody that loves drama, war, or action. Angelina Jolie out did her self in the movie directing and producing the movie. I enjoyed the movie and will now read the book to compare. It is a part of history that everybody should know about and a good story that ends up with Louis coming home. It's a real American story of over coming adversity. Unbroken was a strong, powerful, moving story of a young Olympic runner that enlisted in the Air Force and when he was flying a mission spying on the Japanese his planes engines went bad and Louis and his crew crash landed and only him and two others from the plane made it out of the crash alive. There was two rafts where they lived for forty-seven days and caught fish from the ocean to survive. One of the men died during the forty-seven days and eventually the men were captured by the Japanese Navy and were taken to land where they were questioned about the mission they were flying when they crash landed. They were then taken to a prison of war camp and the men were poorly treated until the war was over and Louis and his friend were released from the camp and sent back to the United States where Louis continued to run in the Olympics. Unbroken shows the harsh treatment and the strong will of the men to live and make it back to there
