Nobody should ever be in a life or death situation because you are going to do something that you don’t want to do but you have to do it so you can live. Some people are going to be telling you whatever you did was wrong and that’s not true let me tell you why.I think you shouldn’t be held for your actions because you have a chance of dieing other people are going to say that you should be held for your action when you are in that spot because they think it’s wrong what you did but you shouldn’t because you always have to save your life before others no matter what it is.

My first reason that you shouldn’t be held let me give you an example in the story “Unbroken” in paragraph 67 it was when Phil didn’t want to give water to Mac because he wanted all the water himself and he knew that there was enough water for the both of them but he still didn’t want to give him some. That was a smart move for Phil because that little bit water can save his life and Mac was going to die so it was fine that he didn’t give him water.

Introduction Paragraph-1 Johnny, and Pony-boy should not have ran away and hide in the church. Johnny, and Pony-boy should have went to the police, that way it would not be considered murder, but self-defence. What if someone started drowning your friend and it was 1 to 5 and one of them had a knife, what would you do let them beat you up and kill your friend, or kill one of them in self defence? In some people's opinion it was a good idea to run away instead of turning themselves in, and yes I do some what agree it could have been a better idea to run instead of turn themselves in. While at first glance the characters, settings, and difficulties faced in Judith Guest’s Ordinary People seem mundane and commonplace, the novel’s subtext, about a psychological battle against the self, transforms this “ordinary” WASP family into an extraordinary family in despair. Conrad, the protagonist, and son of Beth and Calvin, returns from the hospital and prepares for his first day of school since his suicide attempt, which was fueled by his immense guilt over the death of his brother, Buck. While preparing breakfast for everyone, Beth comments on Conrad's clothes, stating to Calvin, “Decency is out, chaos is in”. This quote illustrates the terribile relationship between Beth and Conrad, while additionally foreshadowing Conrad’s…

People should accept differences in others because compassion can lead to a more empathetic society. There are multiple cases of compassions throughout the story 12 Angry Men. Leading into Act one of the story, juror Eight could be spotted making a remark defending the accused boy and his own opinion about the case,” It’s not easy for me to raise my hand and send a boy off to die without talking about it first” (page 223, Act 1). Unlike the other jurors who prejudiced against the accused because of his background, juror Eight wanted to look further into the case before voting the accused off as guilty. He displayed a great amount of compassions towards the accused boy, and because of his decision to showed sympathy for the boy, the fellow was…

According to Professor Ervin Staub, the author of The Psychology of Good and Evil, “intense violence...is not evil, but justified self-defense in response to unjustified attack” (Staub 5). The Man kills only in self-defense for the Boy; he doesn’t do it out of sadism or the enjoyment of killing people. The loss of the Boy would be tragic as he serves as the Man’s conscience and therefore a reminder of the Man’s humanity. Without the Boy, his morals might waver since he won’t be held responsible for any unethical decisions he might make. Being selfless for another and actively maintaining another’s humanity and…

    Characterization Of Digby

The way we know the characters develop as the story progresses is the details the narrator provides about each character and the situation they are in. At the beginning of the story the narrator and his friends were set on being as bad as they could be. The trio drank alcohol, smoked, drove way to fast, and hung out at a place that was now looking as trashy as they are becoming. I believe the author is leading us to think that they had something to prove to other people around them, and themselves; the only way they thought they could do this was to change who they were. We know that Digby’s parents don’t struggle with money because the story says: “Digby wore a gold star in his right ear and allowed his father to pay his tuition to Cornell.”(Page…

Life is nothing anyone has a true right to decide, except for the one whose own life is in question. Something so fragile, and so important cannot be discussed, or decided about so easily. First of all, I would like to commend the story for giving me such an epitome about the pros and cons of committing revenge to someone and letting me feel those diverse emotions (laugh, grieve, love, amaze, disappoint),and most especially, to think critically and the essence preserving an honor for the family. The movie uses lots of logical reasoning. In the very first placethere was this line stated by Iqbal Khan, the father of Sahir and Samar, that “As long as you have these 25$, no bank in the world can shut our circus down.” This statement may be invalid if you are going to analyze it practically.…
